(56) Trail Crew – LabourerTrail Crew Labourers are in a visible role and provide an outstanding experience for guests via the maintenance of skiable terrain at the Ski Area. Labourers focus on public safety, using the accumulation and distribution of natural snowfall at the Resort by snow “farming” using steel posts and specialized fencing, and performing heavy, physical tasks on snow. Trail Crew Labourers report to the Trail Crew Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor, the Slopes Supervisor, and work alongside the entire Mountain Operations department. Job Functions Traveling safety and professionally on and off skis to perform heavy tasks, including erecting and maintaining fences on steel and bamboo. Developing and opening skiable terrain through the Ski Area. Acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of the Ski Area, runs, boundaries, and terrain. Monitoring runs, signs, trail signs, and equipment placed throughout the Ski Area, reporting deficiencies and safety hazards in a timely manner. Communicating effectively via radio. Participating in: public safety (monitoring avalanche closures as part of the Ski Area’s avalanche control operations), lift and self-evacuations, speed control throughout the Area, limited scope emergency response, events (set up, take down, support). Traveling with equipment and loads up to 30 lbs, skiing with a toboggan and with a backpack. Timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and deficiencies to appropriate personnel. Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.
