Join one of the leading architectural hardware suppliers in North AmericaGrow your career within a company with incredible cultureBe rewarded with competitive annual salary of $80K to $100K plus benefitsAbout the OpportunityScout Talent is currently working on behalf of our client, who is a Vancouver-based hardware designer and manufacturer company, to hire an experienced Systems Administrator to join their team on a full-time basis in Lower Mainland, Vancouver, BC.Your responsibilities will include:Installing new and rebuilding existing servers and configuring hardware & peripheralsInstalling and managing a virtualized systemPlanning and maintaining server hardwareDocumenting, recording, and monitoring all hardware warrantyPerforming daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems and resources, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backupsPerforming regular daily security monitoring to identify possible intrusionsSupporting RF guns, wireless devices, and wireless controllers Supporting and administrating systems including Active Directory, Office 365, OKTA, SQL, Linux, Windows Server, VPN, Fortinet Firewalls, Video Conference and related hardware, Fortivoice, and phone systemAssisting with technology planning through the ongoing research of available solutions that will reduce costs and improve productivityPreparing and maintaining IT documentation related to policies, systems and networks, including technology topology mapsProviding periodic on-call support during non-business hours & weekend/evening work to perform system tasksAbout YouTo qualify for the role, ideally, you need:7+ years hands-on experience with extensive knowledge of hardware & server operating systemsCompletion of an IT-related diplomaThe following skills and experience will be required:Strong experience with Windows servers 2008R2-2016, Exchange, Office 365, and OKTA Experience with virtualized server and disk storage systems, specifically VM Ware and NimbleExperience in Windows and Internet technology, including DNS management, firewalls, servers, and backupsExperience with FortinetFluent use of spoken and written EnglishAbility to work across the organization and influence stakeholdersAbility to organize and structure own workloadAbility to effectively communicate and write technical concepts and specificationsOur ideal candidate is a self-starter that can take ownership of their responsibilities, confidently make decisions, and learn quickly. About the BenefitsYou will earn a competitive annual salary of $80K to $100K, depending on skills and experience, plus benefits including:Hybrid work environment3 weeks starting vacationRRSP matchingGroup retirement program for employeesExtended health, dental, vision, and prescription coverage after 3 monthsLife, dependent, and disability insuranceAn opportunity to make the role your own in a small and evolving teamLots of support for continuous learning to advance your skillsLateral and upward career mobility in a growing organizationA family-first culture where work-life balance truly mattersThe client welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
