This is an exciting opportunity for the Intermediate Programmer to contribute meaningfully to these priorities.Reporting to, and working under the supervision of, the Team Leader – Business Operations, you will be responsible for developing new software solutions to meet client requirements through both team and individual efforts, as well as maintain and improve existing applications. You will also be expected to participate in the analysis and gathering of requirements, code completion of software features, testing, implementation, and documentation of final product, effectively managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines without compromise in quality.As an Intermediate Programmer, you will work with an agile team to develop, test and maintain business applications built on any platform (web, desktop, mobile), and use your knowledge and experience to analyze, collect and document users’ requirements, develop user stories, and document use case realization. Your team-driven approach will also be evident as you collaborate with an Analyst and Lead/Senior Developer to set specifications for applications, and support the team in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing and support.Adept at working creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, you will prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software, assist in application design, development and testing, as well as develop and refine integrations between applications. Business users will rely on you for second-level support, from diagnosing and troubleshooting technical and application issues, to making subsequent modifications in conjunction with other developers.This is a 35-hour-per-week, permanent position, working within the office environment, not virtually.QualificationsYour profile as a qualified Intermediate Programmer will include:A three-year college diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.One (1) year of experience as a developer in a large IT environment.Familiarity with .Net Framework, C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web services (REST/SOAP), Web API, IIS.Familiarity with mobile-based software design.Knowledge of web-related technologies (HTML5, XML, CSS, CSS preprocessors, Java Script/jQuery, JSON, Ajax, Bootstrap and JavaScript Framework (Angular and React)).Knowledge of relational database fundamentals, design and development (SQL Server stored procedures, View, Function, ETL, SSIS, SSRS and Profiling).AS400 development experience, an asset.Knowledge of Service Now platform customizations.Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.Rate of Pay: $30.12 – $37.61 per hourThe Durham District School Board (DDSB) is responsible for public education in the rural settings of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog Townships and the urban settings of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa.
