Présentation de l’offre Intermediate Designer – Toronto, Ontario Full-Time Permanent Position Rôle et responsabilités Do you have a minimum of 7 years CAD and detailing custom millwork experience? Our Interior Design Client is looking for an experienced and well-rounded Intermediate Designer who has a track record of developing complex products from concept through to production.  Work activities can vary depending on the project, but typical duties can include: Selecting the best materials and processes for the project Documenting sites measures Carrying out feasibility studies and risk assessments Analysing architectural plans and drawings, highlighting any possible risks or problems and making amendments using computer-aided design applications (CAD) Specifying the appropriate technology and tools to be used in the project and advising where this requires deviation from the initial design plans Liaising with the architect other construction professionals, sometimes managing the design project team Preparing documents to help with getting planning permission and similar approvals A major technical contributor or lead to the completion of project goals and objectives. Perform advanced/complex calculations, apply results to design for optimum results, and identify potential issues with the surface and provide solutions Design advanced/complex 3D models to assist engineers with analysis of proposed designs interpret base survey data and model designs using a pre-established design criterion, as well as recommend changes to models to optimize the design Create drawings independently using field notes/client information Edit existing drawings and input field notes into drawing base plans for proposals, reports and presentations Lead the drafting component on large projects by understanding the correlation between drawings and resourcing CAD technicians to assist with completing project deliverable Adhere to appropriate standards and procedures in creation of draft figures and edits necessary for finalization to ensure quality of results Review own work before sending to chief designer for review and use in project deliverables Partner with project Manager and/or chief designer to understand scope of work, time, and resources available Visiting sites to check progress and inspect work. Most work is carried out in the office, although site visits required at times.  PLEASE NOTE: If you are having problems applying through the portal please send resume directly to [email protected] Exigences et expériences Technical diploma in relevant discipline is a MUST 7 years detailing custom millwork is a MUST Advanced knowledge/understanding of design criteria & 3D modelling applications is a MUST Well versed in a wide variety of manufacturing methods Ability to quickly understand a problem, develop options and then converge on a detailed design.
