Summary of responsibilities The incumbent is passionate about manufacturing, participates in the development of new products by ensuring the manufacturing aspects. He/she will be an integral part of multidisciplinary project teams involved in product development and will be responsible for the analysis and development of manufacturing strategies to optimize manufacturing processes and costs. He/she applies technical knowledge in consideration of the customer process, market, and competitive activities to balance capital and operating costs, technical risks and commercial viability. He/she is responsible for managing the physical and informational flow of new product manufacturing processes (during the pre-project, development and launch phases) as well as optimizing existing products. He has to deal with customers and other Raufoss sites. He/she also performs all other related tasks.Specific responsibilities – Performs process mapping and optimizes manufacturing processes.– Performs work content balancing of production.– Evaluates the flow of materials through different production departments.– Analyzes the production capacity of all departments.– Identifies continuous improvement opportunities for the manufacturing process.– Evaluates feasibility (technical and cost) of projects, identify potential risks, failure points and participate in DFMEA.– Keep abreast of new technologies, trends and innovative solutions in manufacturing automation and robotics.– Ensures regular benchmarking of technologies and production means to business areas (forming, forging, machining, high-speed automated assembly).– Evaluates project budget and resources.– Leads and validate studies of new manufacturing processes.– Evaluates technical impact and impact of changes or issues on project schedule.– Participates in design reviews.– Supports the implementation of performance management software (ERP, MES, GMA, Scada, etc.)– Writes analysis reports and prepares technical presentations.– Participates in presentations and discussions with the client regarding the project.Qualifications and Requirements:Education :– Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.– Graduate degree, DESS, Microprogram is an assetExperience:– 3 to 5 years of experience practice in a manufacturing environment.Knowledges:– Proficiency in MS office suite and project management software Ms Project, Excel intermediate to advanced level.– Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers.– Knowledge of risk analysis and machine safety– General knowledge of industrial building installation (services)– Knowledge of computer aided drafting, automation an asset– Knowledge of industrial management software (ERP, MES, CMMS, Scada, etc) an assetEssential skills required:– Good French (oral and written)– English – advanced level (oral and written)– Good presentation skills– Good analytical and problem solving skills– Ability to synthesize– Ability to work under time pressure– Organized and structured– Management of priorities– Dynamic and adaptable– Ability to adapt in an environment of rapid changeTravel:Approximately (+/- 5 times per year).May be required to travel internationally depending on the project.Human resources / personnel management: Number of direct reports: 0 Number of indirect reports: 5Context and working conditions:– Work schedule: flexible– Overtime: occasionally
