At Westinghouse, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for an eVinci Lead Design Engineer Canada, located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada (Mobile/Hybrid).Your Day-to-Day:Leading a team of engineers, providing direction in the development of first of a kind, conceptual through detailed equipment/machine designs, using a structured design process.Providing technical oversight and mentoring of junior/intermediate members of the Engineering teamPerforming both classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems and/or components against applicable codes & standardsPreparing clear and concise design reports and technical specifications.Reviewing, approving and sealing design reports, technical documentation and drawingsDriving innovation and new methods in the development of new technologies and nuclear systemsCollaborating globally within the Westinghouse Engineering framework alongside SMEs and nuclear specialists Supporting resolution of issues throughout design, manufacture and testing of systems and/or components Who You Are:As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:Required:Licensed P.Eng. member of Professional Engineers Ontario (Mechanical Engineering)10+ years of relevant experienceExtensive experience in conceptual design development, design reviews and engineering change control processes and a working knowledge of CSA N299.1Experience in the substantiation of custom equipment typically: steel structures, hoisting/lifting systems, mechanical drive/positioning systemsExperience working within 3D CAD systems and with FEAThorough understanding of manufacturing techniques, welding procedures or specifications and associated inspection techniques.Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfortable leading meetings and giving presentations.Strong interpersonal skills, experience working effectively in a team environment.Preferred:Application of the relevant codes and standards applicable to the design of nuclear components and systems including specialized tooling and remote handling equipment.Experience with software such as Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor and ANSYS(FEA).
