Help provide Ministry and health sector leadership and support at both strategic and operational levels Ministry of Health Victoria Director, Data Sharing and Administration $96,400.00 – $128,100.00 annually The Ministry of Health’s Data Management and Stewardship provides leadership in the use of, and access to, health data to support evidence-informed decisions, policy, analysis and research directed to achieving improvements in health outcomes. The Director, Data Sharing and Administration provides Ministry and health sector leadership and support at both strategic and operational levels regarding the interpretation and application of legislation authorizing access to data and personal health information. This role leads the creation, maintenance, and implementation of Ministry and health sector policies, standards and procedures that form an enabling framework supporting appropriate data access and data sharing, with a focus on the secondary use of strategic data assets. The position fills the role of Ministry Assistant Chief Data Steward, exercising independent judgement related to highly complex and sensitive data sharing issues, and works collaboratively with BC health authorities to ensure consistency and standardization with respect to a range of data governance and stewardship matters. This is not an IT position. The ideal applicant will have an interest in seeing health data assets leveraged to their full potential across the BC health system, while ensuring the appropriate level of privacy protections, and have experience in areas that may include health information, data management, health analytics, data privacy, data governance and other relevant areas. For questions regarding this position, please contact: [email protected] Job Requirements: • Completion of a related university degree (e.g., health information science, public administration, business administration, political science) and minimum four (4) years’ experience in the following: o Applying and developing policies, processes and tools in a regulatory environment, o Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, and o Working with privacy and access legislation. • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. • Minimum five (5) years’ experience leading teams, managing staff and building a team environment.
