Our guiding principle is to promote a service delivery culture that is respectful, fosters positive relationships, and promotes creative problem solving with all our staff and partners in the Social Sector.JOB OVERVIEWTo provide vision and leadership for developing, implementing, and maintaining information technology (IT) solutions and initiatives that improve cost effectiveness, service quality and access to services for the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR).The position interacts with senior officials across the provincial government and leads the development and implementation of major and highly complex/innovative information, digital strategies and technology solutions. These solutions support the achievement of governments’ key priorities, the ministers mandate letters, and sustaining critical services to citizens.This position works directly with GCIO, Ministry of Finance, Advocate for Service Quality, EATT, RCY, CLBC, indigenous organizations, to coordinate investments, address technical debt and implement digital solutions that connect and modernize the social sector and across four distinct ministries. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience with strategic planning and business transformation in a technology-dependent business area or information systems branch. Experience leading, developing and implementing information management and information technology policies, programs and projects in a complex systems environment including data security and data management. Experience building and maintaining relationships, both internal and external partnerships Experience negotiating and managing information technology contracts. Experience leading and developing professional staff, project teams. Experience managing significant-sized budgets, preferably related to technology and/or project related expenditures (i.e.: capital and operating). Preference may be given to candidates with experience in the development and administration of information security and information privacy programs and/or data management policy and program development.
