Local Unit & Position Description DNV – Renewables Energy Analytics team is seeking a Forecast Analyst to join their global operations. The principal purpose of the role is setting up and maintaining forecasting services, assessing their accuracy, refining forecast performance, investigating new modelling methods, and supporting customers with their services in the fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position can be performed out of any of our DNV offices in Canada with remote or flexible work arrangement (home/office). What You’ll Do Delivering highly accurate and reliable forecasting services for energy traders, grid regulators and plant operators Producing forecast performance reports Interfacing with customers to ensure services meet their requirements Researching new modelling methods Assist with workshops and meetings to discuss wind/solar energy forecasting, and promote DNV’s forecasting services Assisting with the commercial and marketing aspects of the business Willingness to be part of an on-call rate to support operational issues Position Qualifications What is Required Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Meteorology, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering required Minimum 2 years industry or academic experience in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics or related field Experience using Python required Experience with wind and/or solar energy preferred Understanding of global weather patterns preferred Experience using C#, MATLAB, and/or SQL preferred Experience developing and running machine learning models preferred Willingness and ability to be part on on-call rote to support operational issues during weekend and public holidays, up to two weekends per month, required Experience with statistical modelling methods preferred Effective time management skills as you will be required to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work in a pressurized consultancy environment operating to deadline Strong written and verbal English communication skills We conduct pre-employment background and drug screening *Immigration-related benefits, such as visa sponsorship, are not available for this position* What We Offer Generous Paid Time Off (Vacation, Company Holidays, Parental Leave, Sick, and Disability) Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefit Plan Group retirement plan with company match Company provided life insurance, short-term, and long-term disability benefits Education reimbursement program Employee and Family Assistance Program with counseling, coaching, and support options Flexible work schedule with hybrid/remote opportunities **Benefits may vary based on position, tenure, location, and employee election How We Do It We Care, We Dare, We Share DNV is a proud equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
