The Role:

Are you patient focused Echocardiography Technologist with excellent clinical skills looking for a new role? PulseAir Heart and Lung Centre is presently recruiting for an Echocardiography Technologist for our busy clinic in Edmonton.

The Responsibilities Include:

The Echocardiography Technologist performs high quality diagnostic medical ultrasound images to assess the cardiac structure and function and provides accurate information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Reduces patient anxieties by explaining procedures; answering question; aiding the patient to the exam table

Uses proper patient positioning technique, imaging probes, equipment settings, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, to prevent compromised data acquisition and to prevent sonographer musculoskeletal injuries.

Applies independent judgment and critical thinking during the examination to ensure that all appropriate data are accurately captured in the examination images.

Obtains quality images by positioning and repositioning the transducer; monitoring display screen, listening to signals; adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus; detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities recording images.

Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition and ensures the examination rooms are properly supplied, equipped and operational before, during and after each shift.

Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential

Works with an interdisciplinary team and other support staff to provide optimal patient care.

Attends team meetings and updates

The Requirements:

1 year experience in a similar role performing Echocardiograms, Stress Echo and Contrast Echo is an

asset

Current registration in good standing with ARMDS

Proof of Professional Liability Insurance

Familiarity with GE Vivid machines

CPR certification

Excellent communication skills

Experience with EMR systems

This is a full-time position scheduled for Monday to Friday 7:30 – 4:30. We offer a competitive salary from, health and dental benefits, Wellness initiatives and free parking.

Full-time hours: 40 per week

Salary: $83,000 – $104,000 per year depending on years of experience
