United Way Halton & Hamilton is seeking a Vice President, Community Impact to provide leadership, support, and stability to the high-functioning Community Impact team and UWHH as a whole.

Reporting to the President & CEO, The Vice President, Community Impact will be responsible for leading and guiding the organization’s impact and strategic initiatives through cross-functional, interdepartmental capacity building and strategic relationship building. This role will also foster long-term partnerships with other funders, government, and agencies to future-proof the organization through an innovation lens, in addition to overseeing organizational strategic projects, such as the Social Innovation Lab, Financial Empowerment Program, Behavioural Insights projects, among others.
The VP, Community Impact will lead the organization’s impact planning process to ensure the organization is on track with its current strategic directions, and drive continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the Community Impact team and its underlying processes. This individual will also be expected to work closely with donors to secure funding and oversee the departmental budget to invest into community programs.
The current Community Impact team is well established and has adjusted extremely well to the COVID-19 pandemic conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in related discipline or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible positions in leadership and results-based management
Deep knowledge of collective impact as a model of collaboration and community engagement, from strategy formation to execution
Demonstrated skill and comfort in building relationships with board members and government and community agency leaders
Strategic thinker, with a passion for putting resources where their impact will generate strong and scalable results
Experience building, leading, and mentoring staff
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including contract negotiation and conflict resolution
Excellent writing, editing, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong budgeting and analysis skills
Experience serving on andor working with nonprofit boards
