Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an intermediate to senior Manufacturing Engineer for a well established industrial manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with engineers, EHS and production managers to provide technical manufacturing solutions for new products and process.

Responsibilities:

-Design and implement new production procedures, specification, procurement and installation of new equipment to continuously improve our manufacturing capability
-Increase efficiency, improve quality and reduce costs by implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques
-Design manufacturing processes that promote operational excellence combined with EHS standards and ergonomics improvement
-Testing of designs to ensure product reliability and performance
-Design testing Jigs and fixture
-Work cell setup and layout
-BOM and routing creation and Maintenance in corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

Qualifications:

-Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and or Technologist degree/diploma – or equivalent experience
-5+ years’ experience in manufacturing
-Experience in a high mix low volume production facility
-Strong communication and collaboration skills to resolve issues
-3D CAD experience – Solidworks , Creo or equivalent
-Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) experience
-Jigs and Fixture design for assembly and machine shop applications
-Manufacturing plant software
-Lean manufacturing experience
-Analysis software knowledge
-Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
-Equipment procurement and installation project experience
-Operator experience with machine shop equipment
