Our client, a leader in the integrated energy services, is looking to fill a permanent HSE Manager role. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and HSEMS requirements at all Edmonton locations. The role is to provide technical direction and leadership to site management through auditing, training, and other activities to ensure continual improvement of HSE performance across the sites. Experience in managing all aspects of plant HSE through a matrix reporting relationship with site operations personnel if not essential is desirable for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages occupational safety/health and environmental program activities ensuring compliance and conformance to internal Pipeline Performance Group company standards
Fosters continual focus on the Incident and Injury Free philosophy
Directs the implementation of the HSE Management System and assesses progress
Works with the warehouse HSE lead to continually improve the HSE Management System
Ensure understanding and practice of the HSEMS and how to implement an effective employee understanding of the regulations affecting plants
Coaches and leads plant HSE resources to ensure technical competence
Lead overall risk identification and reduction programs for the Edmonton sites with the goal of reducing work related exposure to the lowest extent practicable
Manage periodic regulatory compliance audits and HSEMS audits of the Edmonton plants.
Participate in Division HSEMS audits
Establish and implement training and development of plant employees
Provide technical advice to management on all HSE related issues which may impact business operations
Required Qualifications
6 to 10 years of experience in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemical, Environmental and HSEMS management
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environment or related
Canadian Certified Safety Professional Auditor, specific HSE Management system experience or training or Professional Engineer (PE)
Experienced in implementing HSE programs and management systems at multi-site locations
Knowledge of the Canadian and Alberta health, safety, and environmental regulations
