Underwriting Assistant – Markham
Do you have personal claims or commercial claims experience? Our client in the insurance industry is currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant to work in their Markham Office. They are supporting Brokers and Underwriters. This role has the potential to extend or go permanent.
•Data entry onto the (RTM, RTG and Case Manager systems) for policy renewals, cancellations, endorsements and change of payment method.
•Underwriting Assistant receives Broker requests through a queue and needs to determine priority (for example, cancellations and change of payment methods are the highest priority), then cuts and pastes the details to a queue sent to the appropriate Underwriting Team/location
•Accuracy and speed is very important for this role.
•Provide maximum broker satisfaction whenever contact is made with brokers focused on commercial property and casualty accounts.
•Working as part of a team is essential as well as meeting deadlines.
• Work for a well-known insurance company
• Earn up to $16.81 per hour
• Markham Head office
• 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension
•1-2 years of related experience
•Insurance knowledge is nice to have to better understand the policy update
•Excellent computer skills and ability to learn internal systems quickly
•Ability to pay attention to detail and enter information accurately
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Excellent decision making and analytical skills
•Organized and strong time management skills
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 6 shifts (8-4, 9-5, 10-6, 11-7, 12-8 and 1-9) on a weekly rotation basis, once training is complete.
