Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer for a well established high tech manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.
The Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for firmware and electronics design for new products through all development stages.

Responsibilities:

-Responsible for firmware development, debug, simulations, and test
-Perform schematics design and multi-layer PCB layout using Altium Designer CAD tool
-Design simulations and perform signal integrity testing
-Source components and interface with the supply chain to procure required parts
-Generate technical documentation for engineering and manufacturing
-Experience with fast prototyping and design of complex analog and digital electronic circuits and assemblies.
-Work with other engineers or independently, develop/design new products from concept to production using electronic circuit design and testing tools.
-Review and assist in design work with regard to manufacturability, safety, cost, project definition, and conformance to Codes and Standards.
-Design products to be in conformance with all necessary agency standards ((UL, CSA, ETL, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc).
-Manage multiple design projects simultaneously. Working with cross-functional teams. Report project status as needed to the management and take appropriate actions to maintain project schedules.
-Support team members with documentation including detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, performance specifications, and UL submittals.
-Redesign products for improved function, cost reductions, and sustainability initiatives.
-Plan and secure necessary certification agency approvals for new and revised products (UL, CSA, ETL, IEC, NEMA, IEEE, TIA, etc.

Qualifications:

-Masters or bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
-At least 8+ years experience in a similar role
-Skilled in the design of electronic circuits and prototyping.
-Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, high-volume electronic assembly processes and certification standards such as UL, CSA, etc.
-Must be proficient in C, C++ & HDL coding languages
-Knowledge of analog signal transmission protocols such as 4-20mA & 0-10V
-Strong background in data communication protocols such as USB & Modbus
-Knowledge of EtherCAT protocol is an asset
-Capable of working on multiple simultaneous projects.
