Quality Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for a well established client of ours in the Vancouver area. The ideal candidate will have a quality background in automotive or aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

-Manage Quality deliverables as they relate to overall assigned program’s requirements and timing.
-Communicate with customers on any aspect of product quality.
-Advocate as the “voice of the customer” demanding the highest quality
expectations from the organization with lean, cost effective strategies that meet the organization¡¦s needs.
-Assist the Manufacturing Engineer with the creation and maintenance of: Process Flow Diagrams, Work Instructions, specialized inspection tooling and vendor manufacturing plans.
-Responsible for the creation and maintenance of: Inspection Control Plans,
Determining training requirements, Internal FAI’s and verify vendor FAI’s,
-Adheres to customer sampling plans and all quality documentation.
-Ensure that RCA’s (request for corrective actions) are initiated and progressed to closure.
-Participate and drives closure of non-conformances through the MRB process.
-Accountable for maintenance, accuracy and completeness of customer concerns and complaint records in customer systems.
-Provides technical direction to Quality inspectors and Quality Technicians.
-Provides administrative direction to Quality Coordinator.
-Reports to management on various quality related performance metrics such as: Rework, Scrap, Escapes, Snags, RNC’s.
-Participates in plant wide continuous improvement projects

Qualifications:

-Exceptional problem solving skills, viable concept development, and proficiency with statistical methods.
-Strong communication skills; verbal, written, technical presentations
-Proficient skills in applicable manufacturing process control, Value Engineering, FMEA
-Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines
-Proficient with computer software applications, including word processing,
spreadsheets and database applications
-This position requires occasional international travel
-Ability to undergo Security Clearance Process for Export Controls: CGP, ITAR.
-Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
-Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)
-Background and experience in GD&T
